Days 1 and 2 Sao Paulo (S 23 degrees 35.113´ W 46 degrees 36.792`)

So day 1 of fun! i flew out of slc at 9am wed morning. I had a buddy pass from the infamous Dave Kiley which means i was flying standby. it went down to the last minute and i was the last name they called for standbys to get on the plane. i havent been that nervous in a long long time! I flew to LA and right as i got off the plane i went to the delta desk and made best friends with the lady that assignes tickets and seats. soon after we boarded the plane and somehow i was called first? Turns out my new friendly delta lady put me in the first seat of first class. probably the best traveling experience ive ever had. \´´sir would you like a steak?`` haha it was amazing! i watched a couple movies and slept the entire way to sao paulo. i got off the plane in sao paulo. got my bag, did visa stuff, and as i walked out the doors of the airport there were like 500 people waiting out there and when the doors opened the whole crowd eruped cheering, clapping, and chanting... I had no clue what was going on! turns out, the way i was dressed, they thought i was Robinho. hes like the kobe bryant of brazillian soccer. No gonna like i was pretty scared that i was gonna get mobbed! from the airport i found out that the kid i was going to meet up with went to spain. sweet! haha so i dug through my bag. found an old address from a mission friend. put it in my gps, and caught a bus towards one of the biggest cities in the world. On the bus two young ladies behind me were speaking in some strange language so i listened closer. turns out they were speaking english but they were from london. they were headed to the same place as me almost so i helped em get metro passes, switch metros three times, and gave them detailed directions to their hotel. i on the other hand, took the metro to ipiranga, walked outside, and followed my gps 2.5 miles to the place where my misson buddies parents lived 5 years before. i knocked on the doors. waited like half an hour. and was just about to leave when the guy in the meat market across the street yelled at someone. it was my buddies dad. he gave me a strange look but when he found out who i was he invited me in. we talked for a couple hours while  the cooked a churrasco,(which is like tucanos) dinner. they let me take a shower and nap and when i woke up my buddy Elder Guisti was there! we talked about the good ol days for a few hours and somehow i fell asleep again and didnt wake up til this morning! so crazy! its raining and flooding a ton around here! today im going to hit the streets, get a phone, and maybe go to the zoo?  Gotta roll! keep you posted :)
